Appeals court denies AIG bid to boot Pillsbury from case
At the heart of the dispute is the claim by the AIG defendants that two attorneys who now work for the Pillsbury firm, but are not related to this case, had previously worked at Sedgwick LLC, a firm that had previously provided aid to AIG in handling normal operations related to insurance claims.




The 1st District Court of Appeal declined Tuesday to disqualify Pillsbury, Winthrop, Shaw, Pittman LLP from a complex insurance litigation matter. The insurance company defendants alleged that three of the firm's attorneys had their "playbook," due to previous work experience at a different firm that partnered with the insurer defendants' in-house counsel.
