Aerospace company must pay $65.9M for water contamination
In 2007, Whittaker Corporation agreed to a multi-million dollar settlement that required the company to fund a groundwater treatment facility and two replacement wells, but over time, other wells in the area have become polluted with harmful chemicals.




A federal judge signed off on a jury verdict in favor of Santa Clarita Valley Water and awarded the water district $65.9 million in remediation for groundwater contamination by the Whittaker Corporation, an aerospace company.
This final judgment issued June 28, came six months after a jury found Whittaker predominantly responsible for the pollution and contamination of the local groundwater supply.
