Google's, Quinn Emanuel's discovery misconduct brings nearly $1 million sanction

“Plaintiffs now know that Google withheld data that it should have produced pursuant to the Court’s Order, on the basis of Google’s own litigation say-so about whether the data is linked with or linkable to Plaintiffs and their devices,” the October sanctions motion read.

A U.S. magistrate judge in San Jose has sanctioned Google Inc. nearly $1 million for discovery misconduct by the company and its attorneys from Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in a case alleging the company misrepresented how much user data it gathered in its "incognito" mode.
