Intervener tries to scuttle deal on Los Angeles homelessness
Los Angeles Community Action Network and Los Angeles Catholic Worker have said that a federal judge does not have standing to preapprove enforcement of city ordinances that were part of the agreement.




The City of Los Angeles’ $3 billion settlement that would provide housing to the Skid Row homeless population will be challenged by an intervener party that argued that the deal’s terms grant the city the ability to enforce preapproved ordinances.
The city agreed to build between 14,000 and 16,000 beds to house homeless people under the terms of a deal approved in June by U.S. Judge David O. Carter.
