CJP need not say how often it refers judges for prosecution
“The court is wrong that CJP can proclaim it referred judge crime to prosecutors on ‘multiple occasions,’ but refuse to provide backup statistics,” said Huntington Beach attorney Patrick J. Evans.




The Commission on Judicial Performance does not need to turn over information on how often it has referred judges for prosecution, according to a published appellate ruling issued Friday.
Writing for the unanimous 3rd District Court of Appeal panel, Justice Jonathan K. Renner found the agency’s confidentiality rules meant it could not be forced to provide the information even if not linked to judges’ names.
