Alleged victim’s sister testifies in Twitter spy trial

Federal prosecutors called as a witness a human rights activist who is the sister of a man in custody in Saudi Arabia for more than three years and is one of the alleged victims the Department of Justice says had data stolen by a former Twitter employee on behalf of the kingdom.

The trial against a former Twitter employee accused of selling the information of political dissidents to the Saudi government saw its first testimony pertaining to a victim of the alleged political plot on Wednesday.
