Can parent company counsel answer for subsidiary in bias lawsuits?

"In all three cases, counsel who previously had indicated several times that he represented General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems Inc. pulled a fast one and returned the notice and acknowledgment of receipt on behalf of the subsidiary, General Dynamics OTS (Niceville), Inc.," said San Francisco plaintiffs' attorney Tracy C. Lemmon.

A Sonoma County Superior Court judge is expected to decide Thursday whether attorneys for General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems Inc., a defendant in three gender discrimination cases, can answer on behalf of a subsidiary company in court proceedings.
