Prosecutor sued San Diego, now both sue their lawyers

The city attorney asked the judge to set aside the jury’s verdict, was denied, and filed a notice of appeal. The plaintiff’s new attorneys want the judge to award them a higher multiplier to determine their share of fees — the previous attorneys the plaintiff is suing will also share in the pot.

A jury’s award of $3.9 million to a former prosecutor who sued the city of San Diego for wrongful termination didn’t end the litigation. Far from it.

Both the city and the plaintiff are suing their former attorneys, accusing them of mishandling the cases. The city attorney asked the judge to set aside the jury’s verdict, was denied, and filed a notice of appeal. The new plaintiff’s attorneys want the judge to award them a higher multiplier ...
