Tesla adds securities attorney to its growing legal department

Elon Musk said in May that he intended to create a “hard core litigation department” within the world’s largest automaker which would “directly initiate and execute lawsuits.”

Tesla Inc. founder Elon Musk, well-known for his battles with securities regulators, vowed earlier this year to beef up his in-house legal department. Now the world’s largest electronic automaker has hired from Hewlett-Packard an in-house lawyer who specializes in corporate, securities, governance and finance.
