Meta accused of sharing health site users’ data for ads

Meta Pixel is used primarily to advertise, quietly watching users’ web browsing to more effectively sell products to them after sending the data to Meta, parent of Facebook.

Meta Platforms Inc. has been accused of improperly collecting medical data from Facebook users, even after they exited the platform.

“Americans expect and deserve for their communications with health care providers to be private,” plaintiff attorneys Geoffrey Graber and Eric Kafka said in an email. “We look forward to prosecuting this case, and standing up for the right to privacy.”
