San Francisco Superior Court hires new chief executive

On Thursday, the court named Mark Culkins, chief operations officer of the court's criminal division, as interim CEO. He has three decades of experience in court operations, and started in San Francisco as a courtroom clerk in 1994.

T. Michael Yuen, San Francisco County Superior Court's chief executive officer for the past dozen years, is leaving at the end of the month.

He was originally hired as the court's chief financial officer in 2008 before getting promoted to CEO two years later.
