DAs’ case against ADA law firm likely doomed

"The court issued a tentative ruling dismissing the case without leave to amend," David J. Darnell, a supervising trial attorney with Callahan & Blaine APLC in Santa Ana, representing the defendants Potter Handy LLP, confirmed in an email Friday. "The court took the matter under submission after argument and we expect a final ruling shortly."

A Superior Court judge said Friday he is likely to dismiss a case against a law firm accused by the district attorneys of Los Angeles and San Francisco of misusing the Americans with Disabilities Act to target small and family-owned businesses.
