Uber executive trial watched for data breach accountability
The trial in federal court in San Francisco is being closely watched by lawyers in the cybersecurity space as it could clarify the standards for holding corporate security chiefs accountable for data breaches.




A former head of security at Uber Technologies Inc. went to great lengths to cover up a 2016 data breach, a prosecutor told a jury on Wednesday. But a lawyer for Joseph Sullivan said he was scapegoated by new management brought in to clean house in the wake of several scandals at the rideshare company.
