9th Circuit rules on dueling class actions over Walgreens managers

The dispute began when Gallo LLP and Wynne Law Firm submitted a wage and hour class action in San Francisco Superior Court in October 2018 and attorneys from Miller Shah LLP and Edgar Law Firm LLP filed a similar complaint in the Eastern District court less than a month later.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals denied a request for mandamus relief Wednesday after two class actions were filed by four law firms against Walgreens on behalf of a group of store managers. The firms disputed over alleged attempts to entice clients to opt out of one lawsuit and join the other.
