Robinhood, investors seek OK of $9.9M settlement over trading outages

The settlement class is estimated to be roughly 150,000 investors who experienced losses because of the outages Robinhood’s trading platform suffered in March 2020. Plaintiffs said they previously sought to certify a class of over 6 million Robinhood users.

Robinhood Markets Inc. and investors asked a judge to grant preliminary approval for a $9.9 million settlement Thursday.

U.S. District Judge James Donato oversaw a hearing Thursday in San Francisco, but did not say when he would rule.
