Gascon’s opponents say they haven’t given up on recall

Gascon, who took office in December 2020, has moved on. The state Supreme Court agreed Aug. 31 to hear an appeal of a ruling that allows line prosecutors to seek enhancements under California’s Three Strikes Law over his objections.

Proponents of a recall of Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón haven’t given up.

The recall committee fell more than 46,000 signatures short of qualifying for the ballot last month, according to the county’s registrar-recorder/county clerk, Dean C. Logan.
