US trial judge in Washington state confirmed to 9th Circuit
U.S. District Judge Salvador Mendoza Jr. will replace 9th Circuit Judge M. Margaret McKeown, an appointee of President Bill Clinton, and is Biden’s sixth appointee to the San Francisco-based federal appellate court.




The U.S. Senate confirmed U.S. District Judge Salvador Mendoza Jr. of the Eastern District of Washington to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday evening.
The vote was 46-40, with three Republicans — Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina — crossing party lines to support President Joe Biden’s nominee. All Democrats who voted were in favor of Mendoza, while 14 senators didn’t vote.<...
