Bruised at the ballot, progressive DAs look to next generation

Los Angles County DA George Gascon, Contra Costa County DA Diana Becton and recalled San Francisco County DA Chesa Boudin told law students who tuned in on Zoom that district attorneys, with their control over charges and bail, are central to any lasting change in the criminal justice system.

After a disastrous primary election, the Prosecutors Alliance of California is laying the groundwork for the next generation of progressive district attorneys. The group held its second annual virtual career forum for law students last week as part of an ongoing series of virtual events.
