TikTok moderators say images caused trauma, judge skeptical

“Isn’t that their job? Isn’t that the job they signed up for?” asked U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria.

At a hearing Thursday, U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria questioned the merits of a proposed class action against TikTok Inc. by content moderators claiming psychological damage as a result of the repeated viewing of disturbing images without sufficient workplace support.

“Isn’t that their job? Isn’t that the job they signed up for?” Chhabria asked.
