Aids Healthcare Foundation sues state over canceled contract

A day after winning approval of a $24 million arbitration award against a CVS subsidiary, AIDS Healthcare Foundation sued the California Department of Health Care Services, saying its contract cancellation violated the First Amendment.

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation is accusing the California Department of Health Care Services of violating its patients' First Amendment rights after the agency chose not to extend a 27-year health services contract because of "inappropriate negotiation tactics" by the foundation, according to a federal complaint filed Friday.
