Central District to end teleconference in criminal cases, other courts continue

“The use of video or telephone conferencing under the CARES Act will no longer be authorized. Effective immediately, the Court will no longer accept scheduling requests for interviews, meetings or criminal hearings scheduled after 5:00 p.m. on September 23, 2022,” the announcement read.

The federal trial court for the Central District of California will end on Sept 26. video and telephone conferencing for criminal cases that began when COVID-19 hit, while the other federal trial courts in California have decided to extend teleconferencing for at last another 90 days.
