Suspended attorney testifies against FBI agent
"If there were any investigations on me or any interest in me from any other departments, [I hoped] that he could shield me or do something," testified former Rodeo Drive lawyer Edgar Sargsyan on the second day of the trial against former special agent Babak Broumand, who is charged with six counts of bribery.




A convicted attorney, who admitted practicing without taking the State Bar, told a federal jury Wednesday that he wanted someone powerful, such as the former FBI agent on trial for allegedly accepting bribes in exchange for classified intelligence, to protect him from law enforcement while engaging in criminal activities.
