Lawyers celebrate end of personal injury hubs in LA court

“One of the hardest parts of the hub system for a plaintiffs’ lawyer is not knowing where you are going to end up for trial and not knowing what your venue is. It adds an extra layer of stress and uncertainty that makes settlement more difficult,” said Deborah Chang, president of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Attorneys praised a plan by the Los Angeles County Superior Court to phase out personal injury hubs in favor of community-based independent calendar courts.
