Lawyer accused of taking bar for partner remains active

Edgar Sargsyan was admitted to the California Bar in 2016 and practiced at Pillar Law Group on Rodeo Drive for four years. He is the key government witness in a trial against former FBI agent Babak Broumand, accused of accepting bribes.

A suspended attorney told a federal jury on Thursday he “was ashamed and embarrassed” that he paid a partner at his Beverly Hills law firm to take the bar exam for him, a fact that he disclosed to prosecutors the night before he was to testify against an FBI agent accused of taking bribes from him.
