State senator plans to challenge limits of Boise homeless ruling

“Senator Jones’ bill is just another indication of this intensifying campaign against the homeless,” said Anthony D. Prince, general counsel for the California Homeless Union/Statewide Organizing Counsel.

Where are the borders of Boise — specifically Martin v. Boise, 2018 DJDAR 8871, a landmark case on the rights of homeless individuals? A state lawmaker wants to find out.

Sen. Brian Jones, R-Santee, plans to introduce a bill Friday that would allow authorities to remove homeless people from “sensitive areas,” provided they have somewhere else to go.
