Tesla countersues state civil rights department over Fremont plant

Tesla argued that when the department accused the company of allowing and enabling widespread race discrimination at its Fremont assembly plant, it “subverted and continues to subvert the statutory and regulatory framework of the California Fair Employment and Housing Act with its own ultra vires rules of procedure.”

Tesla Inc. accused the state civil rights department of using "underground regulations" to file a race discrimination lawsuit against the automaker without giving the company notice or a chance to settle.
