Gibson Dunn should pay sanctions from own pocket, opponents say
Derek W. Loeser of Keller Rohrback LLP and Lesley E. Weaver of Bleichmar, Fonti & Auld say forcing Gibson Dunn to pay as opposed to using fees from a common fund that will be set up to compensate the plaintiffs in the pending settlement is equitable and in line with “the very purpose of the sanctions.”




Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP attorneys should pay sanctions out of their own pocket because of alleged misconduct during discovery representing Facebook in a case headed to settlement, attorneys for a class of plaintiffs wrote in a brief in federal court.
