Whistleblower should bring new Twitter spy trial, defense says

Angela Chuang — a federal public defender and counsel for the defendant, Ahmad Abouammo — argued that a whistleblower’s claims that Twitter’s cyber security was “alarmingly lax,” entitles the defendant to a new trial because there is reasonable doubt surrounding who may have exposed the private information of the victims.

A former Twitter employee who was convicted of being a spy for the Saudi government and compromising the private information of political dissidents, claims he is entitled to a new trial because the government concealed a whistleblower complaint that would have led to his exoneration.
