State Bar renews probe of prominent lawyers in Armenian Genocide funds case
Both men denied they misused any of these funds. Brian S. Kabateck is a well-known plaintiffs' lawyer and former president of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Mark Geragos has long been a go-to lawyer for celebrities in Hollywood.

In the wake of the Tom Girardi scandal, California State Bar officials pledged not to look the other way when powerful attorneys committed misconduct. Now the agency is investigating two of the best known lawyers in Los Angeles.
The bar announced Tuesday it is looking into Mark Geragos and Brian S. Kabateck "in connection with the Armenian Genocide insurance settlement funds from which dispersals were made in the U.S. and France."
