Consumer Watchdog event honors those who fought 47 years to change MICRA
Some 560 people gathered at the Beverly Wilshire to celebrate those who had worked for passage of AB35, signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on May 23. The law allows the cap to rise gradually from the 1975 limit of $250,000 to reach $750,000 for medical malpractice noneconomic damages and $1 million for wrongful death.
