NDA was crucial to protecting Uber’s hacked data, witness says

Matthew Henley worked for defendant Joseph Sullivan for 20 years. Sullivan is accused of concealing a 2016 breach from federal authorities.

The last witness in the criminal trial of a former security chief at Uber Technologies Inc. accused of concealing a data breach testified on Thursday.

Matthew Henley worked for defendant Joseph Sullivan for 20 years at Uber, Facebook and eBay, and said he is a close friend. Henley was an attribution researcher at Uber, meaning his job after a security incident was to track down the perpetrators and convince them to stop their actions.
