LA water bill case continues, with those who say they were left out

The water bill class members appeared Friday to present their cases for appeal against special master Barbara Barkovich’s final determination in the case, which was used to determine which individual claimants would receive settlement funds. The exact content of Barkovich’s determination is unknown, as her report was filed under seal.

Despite a $67 million settlement in a case against the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, litigants who say they were either inadequately compensated in or wrongly left out of the settlement altogether made their feelings known to the superior court judge who has supervised the seven-year case.
