Jury takes 15 minutes to acquit retired FBI agent of indecent exposure

“While there was overwhelming evidence that he did not fit the description of the accused, he was nonetheless prosecuted for a sex crime that could have led to him being incarcerated and requiring him to register as a sex offender in California,” defense attorney Paul J. Wallin said.

An Orange County jury found a retired FBI agent not guilty of indecent exposure in a Laguna Niguel Park, his attorney said.

The jury took just 15 minutes to return its verdict on Sept. 19. Defense attorney Paul J. Wallin of Wallin & Klarich said the Orange County sheriff failed to perform a proper investigation leading to the humiliation of his client. People v. Richard M. Havens, 21HM07760, O.C.
