Legalization advocates skeptical of Biden’s marijuana initiative

Two attorneys who belong to the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws say the treatment of cannabis as a Schedule I narcotic under the 1971 Controlled Substances Act is bad, but that Biden's proposal may make no difference or even make the situation worse.

President Joe Biden's announcement Thursday that he would ask U.S. Secretary Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra to "expeditiously" review how cannabis is scheduled under federal law was greeted with skepticism by legalization advocates.
