Daughters of homeless drug addict win $34M for his death
Plaintiffs’ attorney Arash Homampour persuaded the San Bernardino County jury that the dead man had a long relationship with his daughters and the city admitted liability for construction workers striking him in the head with a shovel during an altercation.




A San Bernardino County jury awarded $34 million to the family of a man killed with a shovel to the back of the head on a construction site in Victorville.
The city’s attorneys, while admitting liability, argued that since he was a homeless cocaine and methamphetamine addict who had little contact with his daughters, they should not have to pay damages for wrongful death.
