Tenants sue landlord over water leaks that flooded 35 stories

“Many tenants received little or no response from Hines, and were forced to continually hound management for relocation expenses and information about the status of their units,” said Sarvenaz J. Fahimi of Cotchett Pitre & McCarthy LLP, who filed the lawsuit.

Tenants of 33 Tehama, a 35-story luxury high-rise in the South of Market district in San Francisco, accused their landlord in a lawsuit of mishandling two major water leaks that led to the building being flooded and uninhabitable.

The landlord, Hines Interests Limited Partnership, could not be reached for comment Monday. Hines, based in Houston, Texas, manages hundreds of residential properties throughout the world.
