LinkedIn sued over automatic renewals for premium services

Filed under California’s Automatic Renewal Law (ARL), the lawsuit adds to a number of complaints being filed against companies across the country under similar legislation whose authors say they are designed to protect consumers.

LinkedIn improperly enrolled users in continuously renewed subscriptions for the platform’s premium services and failed to alert users that it was going to continuously charge them for these services, alleges a class action filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court.
