New 4th District justice praised by colleagues

Gov. Gavin Newsom nominated Thomas A. Delaney in August to replace Justice David A. Thompson, who retired one year ago. Delaney has been an Orange County Superior Court judge since 2014.

Judicial confirmation hearings don’t get much easier than what Thomas A. Delaney experienced on Tuesday.

“Judge Delaney has the compassion, the temperament and the experience needed to succeed in this position,” Orange County Superior Court Judge Cynthia M. Herrera told the members of the Commission on Judicial Appointments.
