LA City Council meeting was deplorable, but probably not illegal

There may not have been a Brown Act violation, but the illegally-recorded conversation could lead to possible challenges to last year’s redistricting vote.

It was the front-page headline Monday, Oct. 10, when Nury Martinez, President of the Los Angeles City Council, resigned her position after audio recordings of racist remarks surfaced.
