Hyundai oil use hearing hinges on prior knowledge proof

Whether or not the company’s technical service bulletins to dealers showed prior knowledge of the defect was a central topic of discussion at Wednesday’s hearing before U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett, who said she would make her decision soon.

A federal judge is considering whether to dismiss a class action case against Hyundai Motor Co. and affiliates that accuses the company of knowingly selling cars with faulty engines.
