Historians needed for expert discovery post-Bruen, state AG says

Deputy Attorney General Robert L. Meyerhoff wrote last week that Senior U.S. District Judge Roger T. Benitez’s briefing schedule in San Diego does not leave nearly enough time for the “focused discovery” necessary under the Supreme Court’s new standard.

The state attorney general’s office, seeking to defend California’s ban on large capacity gun magazines, wants to bring out the historians for expert discovery on the background on gun regulations in light of a U.S. Supreme Court decision.
