Motorcyclist gets $10.8M for crash caused by Navy vehicle

“The enlisted Navy member suddenly swerved, causing numerous vehicles to crash into each other, including a motorcycle operated by our client, Peter Arthur, who was following the vehicles, and as a result was ejected from his motorcycle,” plaintiffs lawyer Robert J. Francavilla said.

A former biomedical technician who lost a leg and suffered other serious injuries when his motorcycle was caught up in a vehicle pileup in San Diego County caused by a U.S. Navy personnel van reached a $10.8 million settlement with the federal government.

Attorneys from CaseyGerry said they believed it was the largest personal injury settlement involving a motor vehicle collision in the history of the Southern District.
