1st lawsuit filed over Fairview Fire in eastern Riverside County

The fire began Sept. 5 and burned for 17 days, consuming 28,300 acres, destroying 36 structures and killing two people.

Singleton Schreiber filed the first lawsuit accusing Southern California Edison of causing the Fairview Fire east of Hemet in Riverside County last month that killed two people.
