$50M settlement over oil spill ready for judge approval

A pipeline rupture discovered in October 2021 off the coast of Huntington Beach fouled Southern California beaches.

A Texas oil company has agreed to pay $50 million to businesses and individuals impacted by the October 2021 oil pipeline spill off the coast of Huntington Beach that fouled beaches throughout Southern California.

“It’s a significant amount and it involves significant compensation to those who got hit hardest by this tragedy,” said Wylie Aitken of Aitken Aitken Cohn, co-lead counsel for the plaintiffs.
