Oakland, San Francisco get climate change suit back in state court

Oil companies say the case belongs in federal court as the issues are global.

Handing a procedural victory to the cities of Oakland and San Francisco, a federal judge ruled their climate change lawsuit against five major oil corporations including BP and Chevron is an issue for the California courts to decide and both sides deserve a clean slate after five years of federal litigation and appeals.
