US judge signs off on $90M Facebook privacy settlement

This agreement is one of the 10 largest data privacy class actions settlements ever. As part of the agreement, Meta also agreed to delete all the data that was improperly collected.

A federal judge granted final approval Thursday for a $90 million settlement to resolve claims Facebook’s parent company, Meta Platforms Inc., wrongfully collected browsing data from users when they visited other sites, even after they had logged out of Facebook.
