FTC, state AG settle with Sonoma County home financier
FTC Senior Public Affairs Specialist Jay Mayfield confirmed in an email Friday that Ygrene executives agreed to the terms of the settlement, including changing its sales practices and paying $3 million, before the filing of the suit.




The Federal Trade Commission and the California attorney general’s office accused a Sonoma County home financing provider of engaging in deceptive business practices, such as taking out liens on consumers’ homes without their knowledge or consent, while announcing a proposed order with a $3 million settlement in federal court in Los Angeles on Friday.
