More briefs needed to decide on combined labor law cases against Farm Fresh

“On balance, the coordination factors appear to support coordination, but petitioners need to provide supplemental bridging concerning the convenience of the parties, witnesses, and counsel,” Superior Court Judge David S. Cunningham III wrote in a tentative hearing ahead of a Wednesday conference on whether to join the cases.

A Los Angeles judge is set to decide whether multiple wage and hour actions against the organic food company doing business as Farm Fresh, and its shipper, should be combined into Judicial Council coordinated proceedings. The individual claims allege multiple labor violations against the company, including failure to pay wages, provide meal periods and furnish wage statements.
