Neurosurgeon explains brain injury disease in NCAA trial
The NCAA is facing a lawsuit brought by Alana Gee, who was married to former USC linebacker Matthew Gee until his death four years ago. Her husband, who played college football from 1988 to 1992, was posthumously diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy by Boston University’s CTE Center.




An eminent neurosurgeon with close ties to the NCAA testified Wednesday, the ninth day of a wrongful death jury trial against the college athletic organization in Los Angeles, saying he hoped it would adopt stricter return-to-play guidelines in football sooner than it did.
