LA oil well opponents rethink strategy after writ mandate denial

A nonprofit group voluntarily dismissed its claim for declaratory relief against the Los Angeles City Fire Department after a Superior Court judge denied their petition for a writ of mandate to halt toxic emissions from inoperative oil wells.
